We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.

Gaurav Saran: My name is Gaurav Saran, I am the Founder & CEO of ReverseLogix, a Market Leading Reverse Logistics Software. We focus on revolutionizing the way businesses handle & manage product returns.

Our software is at the intersection of customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Through our software solutions, we’ve empowered large enterprise customers not only to handle returns more efficiently but also to do so in a way that lessens their carbon footprint.

Companies like Samsonite, Electrolux, and Jabra have trusted our solutions to bring about transformation in this overlooked but crucial aspect of the reverse supply chain.

In the past year, what is the greatest business achievement you’d like to celebrate with your team? Please share the details of that success.

Gaurav Saran: The greatest achievement this year has been our successful penetration into the Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 space. Breaking into these large enterprise accounts demonstrates not just the robustness of our technology but also its scalability and adaptability to complex business needs.

The endorsements we’ve received from our customers are the highest level of validation for what we’ve built.

What advice do you wish you had received when you started your business journey and what do you intend on improving in the next quarter?

Gaurav Saran: Looking back, I wish someone had emphasized the importance of patience in dealing with large enterprise clients. The sales cycle can be very long and complex, but the rewards are immense.

Over the next quarter, we intend to invest more in R&D to innovate our product offerings further, ensuring that we remain 200% better than anything else in the market, not just 10%.

Here is a two-fold question: What is the book that influenced you the most and how? Please share some life lessons you learned. Now what book have you gifted the most and why?

Gaurav Saran: The book that influenced me the most is “Zero to One” by Peter Thiel. It taught me the value of creating something new, a category, rather than merely iterating on what already exists.

The most significant life lesson is the importance of daring to think differently. The book I’ve gifted the most is “The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries. It’s a great handbook for anyone starting a journey in entrepreneurship, emphasizing learning and iterating rapidly.

Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as THE real challenge right now?

Gaurav Saran: The real challenge in the current market is two-fold: Firstly, scaling the business in a sustainable manner that aligns with our values and mission. Secondly, we educate the market on the immense value and broader impact, beyond just efficiency, that our return management solution offers.

Unfortunately, this area of the supply chain has often been overlooked; we are helping businesses across a variety of segments appreciate the business value and cost efficiencies that can be gained by implementing purpose-built technology that not only provides for a better customer experience but also a healthier bottom line.

In your experience, what tends to be the most underestimated part of running a company? Can you share an example?

Gaurav Saran: I think the most underestimated part of running a company is the emotional roller-coaster ride that comes with entrepreneurship. When we were building our returns management software, the initial traction was slow, and it was a big challenge to convince ourselves that we were in the right market.

There were moments when it felt like we were pioneers in a desert rather than a burgeoning industry. Those were testing times, but now I feel we are at a tipping point in the market, and we are well-positioned with the most complete solution.

What does “success” in 2023 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.

Gaurav Saran: Success in 2023 for me would mean achieving a triple bottom line – satisfied customers, a motivated and inspired team, and a marked reduction in environmental waste through our product.

On a personal level, I’d like to spend more time traveling, quality time with my family, and catching up on my favorite movies, balancing my passions outside of work with the work that I’m passionate about.
